The Regulation

  1. Deadline for film submissions in the feature film category: October 20, 2019
    Deadline for submission of a short film: October 10, 2019.
  2. The “Festival Droits de Femmes & Cinéma” association will be held in Paris from 3 to 6 December 2019, the opening will take place at the Assemblée Nationale on the third of December. We still have to define the locations for the 4th, 5th and 6th of December.
  3. The artistic director of the festival will decide the final selection of the feature films competition.
  4. A Jury composed of 7 people from the media industry chosen by the delegate general and the person in charge of the jury. the jury will decide the final winners. 2 awards will be given to feature films (Best Film, Best Actress) and a special prize will be awarded to the Best Woman of the year.
  5. We will only take films that have been finished after April 1, 2017.
  6. The festival’s mission is to bring together talented artists in the audiovisual, performing arts and fine arts fields to promote the cause of women around the world. Its mission is also to link the institutional with the arts through conferences and roundtables to bring together those working underground for gender equality and the causes of climate change that primarily impact women. The goal is to raise public awareness of gender equality issues and to women’s rights more generally.
  7. Each film will be presented once in the cinema in the presence of at least one person from the film team (producer, director or actor) and will also be broadcast online on a festival partner platform throughout the duration of the event.
  8. Each producer will have to provide us a French subtitled version of their film, a poster, a synopsis and a press release. We will accept Bluray ou DCP.
  9. The festival will cover the shipping costs and possible insurance of the projection equipment, except unexpected costs of customs taxes. For DVD/Bluray/DCP sent from abroad we advise you to add on the envelope the mention “No commercial value. For cultural purposes only”.
  10. The festival undertakes to return all screening and distribution material at the end of the event.
  11. Directors and producers will be personally informed of the official selection of their film. They will then sign a broadcasting authorization for the duration of the festival. The official selection will be announced to the press and on our website one and a half month before the event. We ask producers and distributors to inform us for any distribution rights deals in France which would happen before the festival.
  12. Participation in the competition implies full acceptance of and compliance with the terms and provisions of these rules. In case of dispute, the French text alone shall prevail.
